Moving To Bromley London - Why It's So Popular to Live There

Bromley is a nice green suburb of London with lots of leafy trees good places to live with well managed shops all around.

The town divides itself very nicely into a number of nice neighbourhoods. Currently there is somewhat of a shortage of houses to buy due to the demand of moving to Bromley as a comfortable and safe place to live.
Bromley is roughly 12 miles southeast of London and is a haven for young families due to the comfortable pace of living and adequate schools and shops. Bromley South has a collection of mostly modern, well-built flats. Sundridge Park boasts the most expensive of dwellings with expansive Twenties houses in Bickley.
Old Town is near to Bromley North Station and its mix of larger homes and Victorian cottages gives it an air of sophistication. Bromley Common is very popular with first-time purchasers with its two and three bedroom houses.
Flats are available for rent in Bromley as many first time buyers are looking for two bedroom homes which seem to be priced right for their budgets.
The town of Bromley and the surrounding area is very attractive for younger families as there is a ready supply of small houses and the area is an easy reach to London and surrounding areas where many people work.
One of the biggest draws of the town are the state schools located in the area. Highland, for infants and juniors, located in South Hill Road, and Valley in Beckenham Lane in Southlands, are both given outstanding reviews by Ofsted, the government educational watchdog.
Other schools such as the grammar schools in Orpington, Chislehurst and Langley Park are given outstanding marks as well. Education that is nearby and judged to be outstanding is a big reason for the family presence in the area.

There is plenty to do in Bromley too, with the Churchill Theatre, the local performing arts venue. The theatre is located in the middle of High Street, it is a popular place to go as it offers a wide range of plays and shows for the public to enjoy.
For fine eats, enjoy the Rose & Crown, a spacious traditional English Pub serving classic British Food indoors or on the large lawned garden. Or try the George and Dragon, awarded the Certificate of Excellence, and noted for its outstanding luncheon menu.
The children will enjoy Gambado, the children’s amusement centre offering games and entertainment.
The Odeon Movie theatre offers state of the art cinema in 2-D or 3-D format.
For shopping you won’t want to miss the Intu Bromley Shopping Centre on High Street. Stores include all of the most up-to-date, popular retailers such as Accessorise, 3 Store, the Apple Store, H.Samuel Jewellers, Hotel Chocolate and many more.
The town hosts a skateboard park, a children’s park, and an athletic track. There are five railway stations in Bromley. Bromley is conveniently situated to reach London in 15 minutes by train or Victoria in less that 20 minutes.
People like to live in Bromley for the comfortable lifestyle, good education and shopping, and great people with whom to associate. If you are moving to Bromley and would like some help contact F Smith and Son on Tel 020 8688 7063

Why Moving to Chelsea London Makes Sense

Chelsea is an affluent area in the west of London. It is a great place for people to live if they work in Central or Greater London.

Moving to Chelsea London can be an intimidating proposition, however, because of the price of property in London. Before you move, it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the area.

Low Crime

One of the most appealing things about moving to Chelsea London is that it is a very low crime area. In fact, the area does not even rank on the London Metropolitan Police Crime Figures list for things like mobile phone theft, and other crimes (such as burglary) have fallen significantly in recent years. This is an affluent area, and one that is very safe.

Great Transport Links

Chelsea is very well served in terms of both public transport and roads. London’s bus network is one of the best in the country, and thanks to the Oyster card and contactless payments you can travel on buses without using cash. The London Underground and rail service is frequent, affordable and comprehensive, and there are several airports within easy driving distance.

Good Education

Because Chelsea is an affluent area, there is no shortage of high-performing fee-paying schools. However, you do not have to be able to afford to send your children to such a school if you decide to move to Chelsea. There are a number of state-funded schools in the area too, and they consistently do well in league tables.

Entertainment

Chelsea is centrally located, making it a great place for people who like culture and enjoy a good night out. The Royal Albert Hall is nearby, as is the Natural History Museum. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity too, offering everything from quality but affordable table service to the finest of dining.

Rich and Varied Culture

As of 2011, the population of Chelsea was just under 160,000, and relatively evenly split between men and women. Chelsea is an area that attracts professionals, and the average age of people living in the area is 38.
Chelsea is quite multicultural – fewer than half of the area’s residents were born in England. While the same can be said of most parts of London, Chelsea’s varied population is particularly interesting because it skews towards young professionals who have come to London for their careers.

Chelsea is a great place for families, and for single people too. Whether you are looking for a place that is well-connected and that will give your children a good start in life, or you are looking for somewhere to live, work, and hopefully meet your future spouse, Chelsea is a great choice. The Royal Borough is full of things to see and do, and it is a good central point for exploring the rest of London. You would be hard pushed to find anywhere else that is as convenient and as flexible other than the actual centre of the city.

Why Moving to Wandsworth Makes Sense for Everyone

Moving-to-Wandsworth-London
Moving-to-Wandsworth-London
Many different areas of London have their own charms: some are great for families, others fantastic for first time buyers, others perfect for professionals. While this is all well and good, Wandsworth tops them all, simply due to the fact that Wandsworth is perfect for everyone! Quite simply put, it offers everything anyone could possibly need, but if you don’t believe us why not take a read of the information below..?
Firstly, Wandsworth is perfectly affordable when compared to its neighbours. Sure, the average house price within the borough is still over £650,000, however when you’re moving to London you expect these kinds of prices. If you look across the border to neighbouring boroughs like Richmond (average house price of over £900,000) or Merton (average price of over £710,000) though, the prices seem perfectly reasonable. It should be mentioned that rental prices are quite high, however the quality of the properties available justifies this.
Wandsworth is also one of the best locations in the country for those who work in the capital, thanks to the great transport connections it offers. There are Tube stations providing easy access to the whole city, plus overground train services can get residents into the centre of London within minutes. Equally important though is the fact that living in Wandsworth allows you to easily escape the hustle and bustle of London thanks to its easy access to the surrounding counties and the vast swathes of countryside found there.
But what else makes Wandsworth the perfect choice for everyone? The amenities, that’s what. Quite simply, Wandsworth has everything you could ever possibly need. There are loads of great schools – both private and state-run – as well as many different shopping areas, supermarkets and places to enjoy yourself, including loads of different restaurants, bars and pubs. Families with older children will find many options for further education – London plays host to many of the country’s top universities – plus those with very young children will find an array of different preschools. Whether you are a parent, first time buyer or young professional, you’ll find everything in Wandsworth.
It should also be mentioned that moving to Wandsworth can be considered a great investment, as property prices in the area are really unlikely to fall. Even through the recession most of London held its prices, and prices in Wandsworth are shooting up as you read this article. In the last year alone, prices of houses in Wandsworth rose by nearly 17% and they are expected to continue rising for the foreseeable future. If you do decide to move in the future, renting your current property out is perfectly feasible, with rental prices slightly higher than the London average.

So, the reasons for moving to Wandsworth are numerous. If you are making the move soon, why not give us a call on 020 8688 7063 to chat with one of our friendly team?  or complete our online quotation form available here http://www.fsmithandson.co.uk/get-a-quote/ We’ll make your move as stress-free as possible, thanks to our many years of experience in the removals industry in south London and the surrounding areas.

Living in Wandsworth

Wandsworth is a district of South West London within the London Borough of Wandsworth. Named after the River Wandle, Wandsworth itself is situated right at the point where this river meets the Thames.
Wandsworth is a largely residential district that is typically considered to be middle class suburbia, making it a popular place for F Smith and Son, we carry out removals daily in this area, gaining greater experience of the roads and properties.
The former wharf area of the river-front is now lined with new apartment blocks, with several bars and restaurants. Notable pubs include the Ship Inn and the Waterfront, on the western and eastern side of (the southern bridgehead of) Wandsworth Bridge respectively. Also in the area is the Royal Victoria Patriotic Building, which now contains flats, a theatre school and a restaurant. The Tonsleys/Old York Road is a residential area of old Wandsworth close to the river and town centre, so called because many of the street names have the word “Tonsley” included. It has a village feel with the Old York Road’s cafes and shops at its heart. East Hill is an area of large Victorian houses bordered by the west side of Wandsworth Common. Wandsworth  High Street is dominated by the recently regenerated Southside shopping centre, cinema and restaurant complex.
Built in 1851, Wandsworth Prison is a Category B men’s prison. It is the largest prison in London and one of the largest in Europe, with a similar capacity to Liverpool Prison, this doesn’t reflect in house prices or people moving into the area.

What Types of People are Moving to Dulwich?

F Smith and Son help many people who are moving to Dulwich, one of the most up and coming areas of south London.

What Types of People are Moving to Dulwich?
What Types of People are Moving to Dulwich?
With a combination of affordable housing, great local amenities and good transport links, it is hard to resist the lures of Dulwich when looking to buy a home in or around the capital. But what types of people are typically moving to Dulwich? Keep reading to find out…

Families

Families represent a large percentage of the people moving into Dulwich, mainly attracted by the excellent schools in the area. This includes a number of infant/junior schools rate as “good” or better by Ofsted, as well as secondary schools such as the extremely well-regarded Harris Boys’ Academy. There’s even a fantastic library in the area, but this isn’t surprising considering Enid Blyton was born in Dulwich. Families are also lured by the fact that the area is a safe one to live in, making it perfect for raising a young family.

Investors

Property investors are snapping up properties in Dulwich at an astonishing rate. This is due to one simple fact – prices in the area are increasing very quickly, therefore making purchasing a property in Dulwich an excellent investment. This is proved by the fact that property prices have increased by over 30% in Dulwich over the last year. East Dulwich is particularly attractive to investors, due to the fact that property prices are still affordable yet also rising quickly. Many investors are choosing to buy the properties in order to let them out until prices have risen further, therefore making the area great for those looking to rent.

Young Professionals

For young professionals, living in Dulwich is the perfect choice. The area has excellent transport links to the centre of London, with a train journey from West Dulwich to London Victoria taking just 12 minutes on average. What’s more, young professionals will find plenty to keep them entertained while in Dulwich, including the vibrant Lordship Lane, as well as numerous bars and pubs. The other main reason for the large numbers of young professionals moving here is the proliferation of rental properties in Dulwich, with rental prices that are lower than most other nearby areas. Many young professionals also choose to stay in Dulwich once their rental contract is finished, due to the fact that the area offers everything they possibly need!

First Time Buyers

First time buyers are hugely attracted to Dulwich, and there is one simple reason for this: price. While it is true that some areas of Dulwich are prohibitively expensive, there are other areas – such as East Dulwich – that offer great value for money on homes, as well as homes that are only going to rise in value. For those looking to get on the property ladder, Dulwich represents the perfect compromise – not too expensive, but also a nice area with plenty of amenities.
